Western Union makes it easy for consumers and businesses in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (EMEASA) to quickly, reliably and conveniently transfer funds, send bill payments, or pre-pay for phone, Internet or credit card services using our proprietary money transfer network. We have more than 600 employees working in 26 offices across the region. The staff is responsible for a network of more than 189,500 Agent locations spanning over 120 countries and territories.

Our core business in the region includes:

  • Money Transfer from more than 270 banks and postal institutions in over 100 countries are Western Union® Agents;
  • Online Money Transfer using your country-issued credit or debit card in eight countries, including United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria, Netherlands, France, Norway, Sweden, and Germany;
  • The Western Union Gold Card for members of our loyalty and rewards program to enjoy benefits such as service fee reductions, free phone time, merchandise and gift cards in select countries, including Belgium, UAE, France, United Kingdom, Ireland , Portugal, Spain, Greece, Sweden, Kenya, Switzerland, and Germany.

In Africa, Western Union operates through a network of more than 10,600 Agents in over 48 countries. Our cooperations in Africa ensure that money transfer services and products reach individuals, communities and families in even the remotest areas. With the vast African Diasporas in the US and Europe, this service is essential to meet the needs of Africans across the world.

The cooperations in Africa aim at winning the best systems, processes and technology to ensure reliability and reach. Africa is a growing economy in the global market and such easily accessible services and product offerings are essential to competing in this space.
